TQB2102 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) under development by Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group, a Chinese pharmaceutical company. This drug integrates a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the tumor-associated antigen HER2 with a payload consisting of a topoisomerase I (TopoI) inhibitor, connected through an enzyme-cleavable linker. TQB2102 functions by attaching to tumor cells that express HER2, and upon internalization, the TopoI inhibitor disrupts DNA replication by inhibiting the activity of topoisomerase I. This process results in cell cycle arrest and subsequent apoptosis of the tumor cells, thereby inhibiting tumor growth.

At present, TQB2102 is in Phase 2 clinical trials in China, exploring its efficacy in treating HER2-positive breast cancer, gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). These trials are designed to assess the safety and effectiveness of this targeted therapy for patients suffering from these difficult-to-treat cancers, potentially providing a new therapeutic avenue for individuals with HER2-overexpressing tumors.
