CBP-1008, developed by Coherent Biopharma, is a first-in-class bispecific ligand drug conjugate (Bi-XDC) targeting both folate receptor andalpha; (FRandalpha;) and TRPV6, which are overexpressed in various solid tumors, including ovarian cancer. The drug is conjugated to monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE), a potent microtubule-disrupting payload that is released upon internalization of the drug into tumor cells. Once inside, MMAE binds to tubulin, inhibiting its polymerization and triggering cell cycle arrest, leading to apoptosis in the cancer cells. This dual-target approach aims to improve the selectivity and efficacy of the treatment, particularly in cancers that overexpress FRandalpha; and TRPV6.

CBP-1008 is currently undergoing Phase 2/3 clinical trials in China for the treatment of platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (PROC) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). The trials are investigating the drug’s safety, tolerability, and efficacy in these difficult-to-treat cancers. By targeting two critical receptors involved in tumor growth and metastasis, CBP-1008 holds the potential to provide a new treatment option for patients with these aggressive forms of cancer.
