BL M02D1 Clinical Trials

Release Date: 25-Jan-2025

BL-M02D1 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) produced by Bai-Li Pharmaceutical, a biopharmaceutical company in China, which targets TROP2, a cell surface protein that is overexpressed in various solid tumors. Utilizing the company's HIRE (Heterogeneity overcoming - Immunogenic death inducing - Resistance antagonizing - Enhanced Specificity) platform, BL-M02D1 is engineered to deliver a cytotoxic agent specifically to TROP2-expressing cancer cells. The TROP2-targeted antibody component promotes the swift internalization of the drug, guiding it to the lysosomes of cancer cells, where it releases its cytotoxic payload. This process induces genotoxic stress and activates pathways that ultimately lead to the death of cancer cells.

Phase 2 clinical trials for BL-M02D1 are undergoing in China, concentrating on breast cancer treatment. These trials are designed to evaluate the drug's safety, efficacy, and potential as a targeted therapy for solid tumors that express TROP2. If successful, BL-M02D1 could provide a promising new treatment avenue for patients with TROP2-positive cancers.
